Global Hindu Leaders to Converge in Mumbai for World Hindu Congress 2026

New Delhi: The World Hindu Congress (WHC) 2026 will be held from December 18 to 20 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex, with more than 4,000 delegates from over 60 countries expected to participate. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat will address the inaugural session of the three-day event, which will bring together Hindu leaders, thinkers, entrepreneurs, academics and representatives of various institutions from across the world.

The three-day event will be held at the Jio World Convention Centre, Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai, from December 18 to 20, 2026.

The conference will feature more than 45 sessions and over 150 speakers, with discussions covering the economy, education, media, politics, women’s empowerment, youth, Hindu organisations and entrepreneurship. According to the organisers, the objective is to provide a common platform for global Hindu leadership and institutions to exchange ideas, strengthen cooperation and explore collective initiatives across different fields.

Swami Vigyananand, founder of the World Hindu Congress, said the initiative seeks to strengthen the participation of Hindu society in key areas such as business, education, academia, media and politics. He said the conference would bring together organisations, activists and individuals around shared objectives and a collective commitment to contributing to society.

Four special plenary sessions will focus on Dharma, Society, Language and Vishwakarma. The Dharma session will bring together representatives and spiritual leaders from Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist, Shinto and other religious and philosophical traditions to discuss their contemporary relevance and possibilities for dialogue. The Society plenary will address social harmony, community development and challenges confronting Hindu society, while the Language session will examine the role of languages in preserving literature, cultural identity and civilisational knowledge.

The Vishwakarma plenary will focus on skill development, entrepreneurship, innovation and the contributions of artisans, craftspeople and professionals to economic and social development. Discussions will also explore ways to enhance the dignity of skilled work and create employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for young people.

The theme of the 2026 conference is “Samanam Vratam Saha Chittam”, which translates as “Shared Commitment, Collective Resolve”. The World Hindu Congress is organised every four years, with previous editions held in New Delhi in 2014, Chicago in 2018 and Bangkok in 2023.

A key feature of the Mumbai edition will be the World Hindu Expo, which is being organised for the first time. According to Swami Vigyananand, the expo aims to promote trade and commerce, encourage entrepreneurship and create opportunities for economic cooperation. It will bring together businesses, entrepreneurs and institutions from different sectors to facilitate networking and potential partnerships.
