Garhwa: A review meeting under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll was held under the chairmanship of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Pashupati Nath Mishra as part of the Election Commission of India’s ongoing campaign to ensure a clean, updated, transparent, and error-free voter list across Jharkhand.
The meeting, attended by representatives of all recognized political parties, focused on various activities being undertaken under the Special Intensive Revision Programme 2026. During the deliberations, the District Election Officer briefed political party representatives about the fifth meeting of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Booth Level Agents (BLA-2), as well as the fifth session of the Election Literacy Programme (Chunav Pathshala), scheduled to be held on November 4, 2026.
He informed participants that the fifth BLO-BLA-2 meeting and Election Literacy Programme would be conducted at all polling stations across the state on the designated date. During these meetings, a voter-wise list of electors who have not yet completed the notice and verification process mentioned in Form-2 will be published at each polling station.
The published list will be read out before all members attending the BLO-BLA-2 meeting and Election Literacy Programme, along with local citizens. Suggestions, objections, and relevant information regarding the listed voters will be invited from BLA-2 representatives and the public to ensure that no eligible Indian citizen is left out of the electoral roll while preventing the inclusion of ineligible or foreign nationals.
The District Election Officer also directed all Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), and Additional Assistant Electoral Registration Officers in Garhwa district to ensure the timely conduct of BLO-BLA-2 meetings at every polling station within their respective jurisdictions. Officials were further instructed to organize Election Literacy Programme meetings at all polling stations on the scheduled date.
The district administration reiterated that the primary objective of the Special Intensive Revision campaign is to ensure that every eligible citizen is correctly enrolled in the voter list and that the electoral roll remains accurate, updated, transparent, and free from errors ahead of forthcoming elections.
