Garhwa: The district administration marked the conclusion of the 9th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2026 with a felicitation ceremony at the Collectorate Auditorium, recognising Anganwadi workers, helpers and women supervisors for their outstanding contribution towards nutrition awareness, malnutrition prevention and community participation initiatives.
The programme was held in the presence of District Social Welfare Officer Archana Sinha, who presented awards to Anganwadi workers for their exemplary performance during Poshan Maah, Anganwadi helpers who participated in nutrition-based cooking competitions, and women supervisors who ensured effective implementation, monitoring and coordination of activities across their respective project areas.
Addressing the gathering, officials highlighted that the objective of the programme was to encourage field-level functionaries and reinforce the district’s commitment to improving nutritional outcomes among children, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
During Poshan Maah, several awareness campaigns and community outreach activities were conducted through Anganwadi centres across the district. Special emphasis was placed on balanced diets, child health and development, maternal nutrition and the use of locally available nutritious food items.
Anganwadi workers who demonstrated exceptional performance on the Jan Andolan Dashboard were also honoured for effectively implementing nutrition-related activities. Participants of a nutrition-focused cooking competition were recognised for promoting healthy and locally sourced food practices.
The contribution of women supervisors in ensuring regular monitoring, smooth execution of programmes and effective coordination with Anganwadi workers and helpers was also acknowledged during the ceremony.
Officials associated with the successful implementation of Poshan Maah, including ADF Rishikesh Ranjan, Poshan Abhiyaan Nodal Officer Rana Tabassum, SAAMAR Campaign Field Manager Rupesh Kumar Mishra, and Deepak Pathak of AVA, were credited for their support and coordination.
Speaking on the occasion, Archana Sinha lauded the dedication of Anganwadi workers and supervisors, stating that their role remains crucial in strengthening nutrition interventions at the grassroots level. She urged all stakeholders to continue working with commitment to improve the nutritional status of women and children in the district.
The programme concluded with a call to transform the nutrition mission into a people’s movement, stressing that the fight against malnutrition requires active participation from families, communities and society at large. Officials expressed hope that greater public involvement and continued coordination would further strengthen nutrition initiatives across Garhwa.
