Vishunpura: A farewell ceremony was organized at the Vishunpura block on March 31 to mark the completion of the tenure of Panchayat Secretary Jagdish Ram. The event was attended by block officials, public representatives, and local villagers, all of whom gathered to express their respect and gratitude for his long and dedicated service.
The most touching moment took place after the formal ceremony when Jagdish Ram met Block Chief Deepa Kumari in her chamber. As she welcomed him with an angavastram, he folded his hands to greet her. However, Deepa Kumari stopped him and said, “Until yesterday you were our employee; from today, you are my guardian.”
Speaking to the media, the Block Chief praised Jagdish Ram’s tenure, calling it exemplary. She highlighted his strong commitment to constitutional values, discipline, and public service, adding that his dedication has set an ideal example for others to follow.
Deputy Chief’s representative Ajay Pal also commended his service and appealed to newly appointed officials to learn from his integrity and work ethic. Officials including Chandan Mehta and Praveen Yadav, along with villagers from the block, were present at the ceremony, making it a memorable and emotional occasion.
