Latehar: The district administration is set to organize a series of grand events on April 4, 2026, to mark 25 years since the formation of the district. The silver jubilee celebrations will feature sports, cultural and traditional programmes aimed at showcasing its rich heritage, tourism potential and developmental journey.
A key highlight of the celebrations will be the district‑wide “Run for Latehar”, to be organized at all notified major tourist destinations. The initiative aims to ensure wide public participation and to create awareness about the natural and cultural significance of these sites.
All blocks have been directed to conduct the run within their respective areas, involving local public representatives, eminent citizens, sportspersons, youth and school students. The administration has assured robust security and medical arrangements, including ambulances and medical teams along the routes, along with strict emphasis on cleanliness during and after the event.
The district administration has also released a category‑wise list of tourist destinations classified under international, national, state‑level and local importance, highlighting sites such as Netarhat, Betla National Park, Lodh Waterfall and several temples, waterfalls and eco‑tourism spots across the district.
In the evening, a cultural programme will be held at the District Sports Stadium, Latehar, starting at 6:00 PM. The programme will feature a performance by the renowned Indian Roller Band, along with a Tribal Food Festival, Chhau dance and a Tribal Fashion Show, offering a vibrant glimpse into the region’s cultural traditions.
Entry to the event will be free for the public. The district administration has appealed to citizens to participate enthusiastically and be part of Latehar’s historic 25‑year milestone celebrations.
