New Delhi: In a significant step towards promoting environmental awareness, Veda Vyasa D.A.V. Public School, Vikaspuri, has launched an E-Waste Awareness Campaign and Collection Drive under the Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE initiative. The campaign, scheduled from October 12 to 17, encourages students and parents to responsibly dispose of old electronic items and contribute to a cleaner environment.
Organised as part of a nationwide initiative of the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL) and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), the drive aims to reduce electronic waste reaching landfills and ensure safe recycling through authorised channels.
The school has invited families to deposit unused items such as old mobile phones, chargers, earphones, cables, remote controls, keyboards, computer mice and other small electronic gadgets in the designated E-Waste Collection Box near the medical room.
School authorities said the campaign seeks to instil environmental responsibility among students while highlighting the importance of sustainable waste management. The initiative will culminate in a Mega Collection Drive Day on October 17.
Carrying the message, “Small Action, Big Impact,” the school hopes to inspire young learners and their families to take meaningful steps towards building a greener and more sustainable future.
