Nation First, Self Last: Rajeev Ranjan Tiwari’s Call for a National Awakening

Garhwa: In a stirring appeal for national unity and collective responsibility, senior BJP leader Rajeev Ranjan Tiwari, a close confidant of former MLA Bhanu Pratap Shahi, has called upon citizens to place the nation above individual interests and dedicate themselves to the larger mission of building a strong, self-reliant and developed India.

At a time when India is rapidly ascending the global economic ladder and emerging as a decisive force in international affairs, Tiwari said the country’s success cannot be measured solely through economic indicators, infrastructure projects or technological advancements. Rather, he asserted, the true measure of India’s rise will be the willingness of its citizens to embrace service, sacrifice and national duty.

“Great nations are not built by governments alone. They are built by citizens who place the country’s interests above personal ambitions and work tirelessly for collective progress,” Tiwari said.

The BJP leader noted that India today stands at a historic crossroads. Having emerged as the world’s fifth-largest economy and possessing one of the largest working-age populations globally, the country enjoys an unprecedented opportunity to transform itself into a developed nation in the coming decades. However, he cautioned that economic growth alone would not guarantee national greatness.

“A prosperous India requires more than wealth. It requires character, discipline, patriotism and a sense of collective destiny. Every citizen must become a stakeholder in nation building rather than a mere beneficiary of development,” he remarked.

Calling upon the youth to emerge as the driving force behind India’s transformation, Tiwari urged them to become innovators, entrepreneurs, professionals and job creators capable of strengthening the nation’s economic foundations. He emphasised that true patriotism lies not in rhetoric but in action, whether through honest work, social service, support for indigenous industries, protection of public assets or contributions to community welfare.

In a strong message against growing individualism, Tiwari observed that societies weaken when personal gain takes precedence over national interest. He stressed that India’s aspirations of becoming a global superpower would be realised only when citizens rise above divisions of caste, region and self-interest and unite under the banner of national development.

“History remembers those generations that chose service over selfishness and nation over narrow interests. The future of India will be shaped not by a select few, but by millions of ordinary citizens performing their duties with extraordinary commitment,” he said.

Drawing attention to India’s civilisational legacy, Tiwari said the country has always thrived when its people worked together for a larger national purpose. He urged citizens to rekindle that spirit and contribute towards the vision of Viksit Bharat, where progress is accompanied by social cohesion, self-reliance and national pride.

Concluding his remarks, Tiwari said every Indian must view nation building as a moral obligation and not merely a political slogan.

“The defining question before every Indian is not what India can give us, but what we can give to India. Personal success may create prosperity, but service to the nation creates legacy. If 140 crore Indians move forward with one purpose, no force on earth can prevent India from becoming a global leader,” he asserted.
