Human trafficking racket busted; eight Bangladeshi women, including two arrested in Bengaluru

KARNATAKA: The Bengaluru police have busted an illegal Bangladeshi human trafficking network in the city and arrested eight Bangladeshi women and two Indian nationals from ladies PG in Banaswadi, Bengaluru.

As per the report, the Bengaluru police raided the women PG located in the Banaswadi area after receiving information about the presence of illegal Bangladeshi residents. The police arrested two Indian nationals, namely Anand and Anil.

Anil is married to a Bangladeshi national named Pooja aka Pinky, who returned to Bangladesh in April 2021 along with another Bangladeshi national named Kamal Hassan, the police said.

In interrogation, both the accused Anand and Anil identified the photographs of a person named Manjunath, aka Vishwanath, who is alleged to be the mastermind of the prostitution and human trafficking racket in Bengaluru.

The Bengaluru police are also determining more details about the potential tilt of narcotics, weapons or communal angle in the case.
