DC Reviews Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries & Cooperation Departments; Issues Strict Directives

GARHWA: A comprehensive review meeting of the Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Cooperation Department was held on Tuesday at the Collectorate’s conference hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dinesh Yadav. The DC assessed the progress of various ongoing schemes and directed officials to ensure transparent, efficient and time-bound implementation.

During the review of the Agriculture Department, the DC examined the status of seed distribution, farmer training, crop production programmes, centrally sponsored schemes, and the Soil Health & Fertility Programme. He expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of work in several areas and warned concerned officials. He instructed them to achieve 100% progress before the next review meeting, stating that any negligence would not be tolerated.

Progress of key schemes such as the National Food Security Mission, Jharkhand State Millets Mission, PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, Kisan Credit Card (KCC) and crop insurance was also reviewed. The DC urged officials to meet targets and expand benefits to more farmers.

Reviewing the Horticulture Department, he stressed quality plantation, area expansion and technical support to farmers. In the Animal Husbandry and Dairy departments, the DC examined the dairy development programme, Chief Minister Livestock Development Scheme, artificial insemination efforts and animal shed distribution, emphasizing transparency in beneficiary selection.

Under the Fisheries Department, the DC reviewed fish development in ponds and reservoirs, seed distribution, insurance schemes and subsidies. Strengthening fish producer groups was highlighted as a key priority. The Cooperation Department presented updates on warehouse construction, fertilizer license issuance and the Rabi season crop insurance programme.

The DC directed all departments to improve coordination, increase awareness of schemes and ensure timely, quality execution so that maximum farmers and livestock owners benefit.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Development Commissioner Pashupatinath Mishra, district-level officers from agriculture, fisheries, cooperation, horticulture and animal husbandry departments, along with ATMA officials and FPO representatives.
