GARHWA: With preparations intensifying for the upcoming urban local body elections in Jharkhand, Chairman of the Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department, Suraj Singh, is set to tour Latehar, Garhwa and Palamu on Thursday. The visit is part of a broader effort to assess on-ground conditions and strengthen coordination ahead of the polls.
According to officials, Singh will engage in a series of meetings across multiple municipal areas. These interactions will include conversations with residents, civic workers and local representatives to review key civic issues. Matters such as sanitation, availability of drinking water, road infrastructure, environmental conservation and ongoing urban development initiatives are expected to be at the centre of discussions.
During the tour, Singh will also address public gatherings at several important venues. He is scheduled to meet community leaders and local stakeholders to understand region-specific challenges and explore possible solutions. Singh emphasised that empowered urban bodies are essential for creating clean, organised and well-functioning cities.
Authorities view his visit as a significant step in the run-up to the municipal elections, as it aims to enhance public engagement and support administrative preparedness.
