SIS Recruitment Drive in Belchempa Brings New Opportunities Despite Low Turnout

GARHWA/REHLA: The week-long recruitment drive conducted by Security and Intelligence Services (SIS) at its Belchempa unit from January 13 to 20 concluded with encouraging outcomes, offering fresh employment opportunities for local youth. Although participation remained lower than anticipated, the initiative successfully shortlisted around 25 candidates, marking a constructive start toward enhancing job access in the region.

The drive was organised to connect rural talent with stable career options in the security sector. Information about the event was disseminated across all police stations under the Palamau Commissionerate, ensuring that key administrative networks were informed. While footfall was modest, officials stressed that the initiative has opened the door for more structured engagement with the community in the coming months.

PK Singh, Regional In‑charge of SIS, described the drive as an important learning experience for the organisation. He acknowledged that broader publicity and deeper community outreach could significantly improve participation in future recruitment programmes. “Many people still lack awareness about SIS and the opportunities we offer in Belchempa. With improved advertising and village‑level engagement, we can reach a far larger pool of deserving youth,” Singh said.

The feedback gathered during the week-long effort highlighted the need for stronger communication strategies, including posters, local announcements, and collaboration with panchayat representatives. Despite the challenges, the selection of 25 candidates represents a meaningful achievement, providing livelihood opportunities to several families.

SIS officials expressed confidence that with better planning and expanded awareness, future recruitment drives will see much higher turnout and greater community involvement. The organisation plans to build on this momentum, aiming to establish a stronger and more visible presence across Palamau district.
