Dr. Gaurav Agrawal Charged with homicide for hitting JAP’s Jawan and his wife

PALAMAU: The local police have registered a case U/S 304 of the IPC, a non-bailable offence not amounting to murder against a for the death of a Jharkhand Armed Police force Jawan and his wife, the Assistant superintendent of police, Vijay Shankar, said.

The JAP 5 battalion Jawan Gopal Singh, 45, and his wife Poonam Devi, 43, were travelling to Kechki which falls under the Barwadih police station of Latehar district, when the doctor’s vehicle from the opposite direction hit the bike resulting the death of the Jawan on the spot while his critically injured wife succumbed to her injuries after some hours.

He also stated that Dr. Agarwal tried to make his driver to confess the crime, however, during the investigation the police manage to excavate the truth behind it and booked the doctor for the same.

Gaurav Agrawal, a distinguished physician was allegedly driving in drunken state when his car hit the bike of the Jawan.

Sources said the accident happened near the Chiyanki air strip on the National Highway 75.
