On this note, the Australian media have reported that one of the most powerful cricket boards may took to push for World Cup to be postponed so that other window for IPL can begin.

International Cricket Council is to meet next week on agenda of World Cup contingency plans. And the appropriate decision will be taken after the discussion. It will also depend on the government of Australia of they allow this to take place due to Covid-19 pandemic.

While, Australia has seen many new infections of the novel coronavirus slow to a drip and is steadily easing travel and social distancing restrictions, hosting a 16 team world cup would be a colossal task for cricket.
