Agriculture, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Schemes Must Reach Every Eligible Beneficiary: DC

Latehar: Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar on Wednesday directed officials to ensure the timely and effective implementation of schemes being run by the Agriculture, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Departments, stressing that the benefits of welfare programmes must reach every eligible beneficiary without delay.

Chairing a review meeting at the district headquarters, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the progress of various departmental schemes and sought updates on services being provided to farmers, livestock rearers and fish farmers across the district.

Reviewing the Agriculture Department’s activities, Kumar directed officials to ensure that farmer-centric schemes are implemented in a time-bound manner and that eligible farmers receive assistance and benefits as intended. He emphasized that field-level monitoring should be strengthened to improve service delivery and enhance the impact of government initiatives.

The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed schemes being implemented by the Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Departments. He instructed officials to increase outreach efforts and maximize beneficiary coverage so that more livestock owners and fish farmers can avail themselves of government support programmes.

During the review of the Cooperative Department, Kumar stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination and directed officials to achieve their targets within stipulated timelines. He further instructed departments to regularly monitor programme implementation and ensure quality execution at every stage.

“Government schemes must translate into tangible benefits for people on the ground. Officials should work with commitment and accountability to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out,” the Deputy Commissioner said during the meeting.

He also warned that negligence in the implementation of development programmes would not be tolerated and called upon departments to maintain the highest standards of efficiency and transparency.

District Animal Husbandry Officer Dr Sushma Pradhiya, District Fisheries Officer Swarnalata Madhu Lakra, District Cooperative Officer Asha Toppo, In-Charge District Agriculture Officer Anima Lakra and other officials were present at the meeting.
