GARHWA: A one-day training program on first aid and CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) was organized on Sunday at Chaudhary General and Paralysis Hospital, located on Rehla Road, Sonpurwa. The event began with a ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by an interactive session led by Dr. P.K. Verma, a senior cardiologist and specialist in diabetes, neurology, and paralysis from Patna.
Dr. Verma emphasized the importance of immediate first aid during emergencies, explaining that its primary purpose is to save lives, prevent conditions from worsening, and reduce the severity of injuries before professional medical care is available. Highlighting CPR as a vital life-saving technique, he noted: “CPR can save a person’s life, and it is a skill that anyone can learn.” He explained that CPR is used when a person’s heart stops beating or breathing ceases, and involves pressing the chest rapidly and firmly to maintain oxygenated blood flow to the brain until advanced medical help arrives.
Hospital Chairman Dr. Kuldev Chaudhary stated that the training aimed to empower medical workers, especially those serving in remote areas, to provide crucial first aid and save lives. He added that saving lives is not limited to medicines alone—proper techniques and timely referral to equipped hospitals and qualified doctors are equally important acts of service.
The program was attended by Director Dr. Julie Kumari, Panchakarma specialist Dr. Atulya Shankar Mishra, lab technician Ankit Gupta, pharmacist Satyaprakash Chaudhary, and several other medical professionals. Hundreds of trainees participated in the workshop and were awarded certificates upon completion.
