NEW DELHI: Over 300 young lawyers and member of civil society participated in the National Lawyer’s Parliament on Saturday in the national capital. The programme was organised by the Indian Society of International Law.
It was the collective efforts of Lawyer’s for Justice, in association with ‘Rajdhani Yuva Sansad’ on the theme of Uniform Civil Code (UCC), a positive case for its enactment and implementation across the country.
The concept note further reads, “Rajdhani Yuva Sansad (RYS) is a youth run organization aimed at contributing towards the cause of nation building and imparting democratic values along with diplomatic skills in the youths.”
The participants have expressed their desire to have the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) be enacted immediately after due consultation with stakeholders and made effective consequently. It is the ‘Need of the Hours’ the young advocates deliberated upon the intricacies of the same. it is a positive step in consonance with concerns expressed by multiple stakeholders, authorities, and institutions time to time. It adds.

“Lawyers’ for Justice is a trust working for creating awareness in the society which recently organized a large-scale peaceful demonstration to pay homage to victims of West Bengal violence. To further the said cause, a delegation of lawyers also met then the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind in May, 2022,” the concept note adds.
