Gurugram: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Haryana has stepped up preparations for the state-level inauguration of the birth centenary year of Ashok Singhal, a key figure in the growth of the VHP and the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement. The grand function will be held on September 27 at 9 a.m. at Gurugram University, Sector 51, and is expected to draw saints, senior VHP leaders, intellectuals, social workers and devotees from across Haryana.
The centenary inauguration will be attended by Bajrang Lal Bagra, Central General Secretary of the VHP, Mahamandaleshwar Mahant Naval Kishore Das Ji Maharaj, and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who is expected to grace the occasion as the chief guest. Several eminent saints and religious leaders are also slated to participate in the programme.
The event will formally launch year-long celebrations commemorating the life, sacrifice and organizational legacy of Ashok Singhal, whose leadership played a significant role in strengthening the VHP’s nationwide presence. Organizers said the centenary year will serve as an opportunity to take his message of service, cultural awakening and national commitment to every district of Haryana.
To review preparations, the Gurugram division of the VHP held a high-level coordination meeting at Gurugram University. The meeting was chaired by Yashwant Shekhawat, Provincial Minister of VHP Haryana, with guidance from Radheshyam Kranti, Provincial Organisation Minister. District and departmental office-bearers from Gurugram, Manesar and Nuh participated in the deliberations.
Discussions focused on reception of guests, stage management, seating arrangements, security, parking, registration, publicity, literature distribution and technical facilities. Various committees were assigned responsibilities to ensure the smooth conduct of the large-scale programme.
Addressing the meeting, Yashwant Shekhawat said the inauguration ceremony would mark the beginning of an extensive statewide campaign, with social, religious and organizational activities planned throughout the centenary year. He described Ashok Singhal as a visionary leader whose dedication to cultural and national causes continues to inspire generations of workers and society at large.
More than 50 workers and women volunteers attended the preparatory meeting and pledged full coordination to make the centenary inauguration a historic success. Organizers expressed confidence that the programme would become a major milestone in honoring the enduring legacy of Ashok Singhal and carrying forward his ideals across Haryana.
