Commissioner Inspects Registration Office, Emphasizes Revenue and Transparency

Garhwa: Divisional Commissioner Kumud Sahay on Thursday conducted an inspection of the District Registration (Registry) Office and reviewed its functioning, revenue collection, and public services. He directed officials to strengthen the registration system and accelerate revenue collection in line with set targets.

The Commissioner stated that the registration office is a key source of government revenue and stressed that officials must ensure efficient functioning with no revenue loss. He reviewed deed registration and fee collection processes and instructed officials to ensure correct valuation of properties and proper collection of stamp duty.

During the inspection, he took stock of rejected deeds, marriage registrations, land and property registrations, pending cases, online entries, and record maintenance. He directed that registration work be completed within stipulated timelines and emphasized digitization, secure document storage, and updated records.

The Commissioner also instructed officials to prevent harassment of citizens and strictly curb the presence of middlemen. He was informed that steps are underway to shift the office to a new building. Sub-Registrar Ravish Raj Singh was present during the inspection.
