TRAI Releases Independent Drive Test Findings for Bikaner District

NEW DELHI: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released the results of its Independent Drive Test (IDT) conducted across Bikaner city, the towns of Nokha and Shri Dungargarh, and key stretches of Deshnok–Norangdesar Highway (part of the Amritsar–Jamnagar Bharatmala National Highway NH‑754A) and Pugal–Ranjeetpura National Highway (NH‑911) in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district. The tests were carried out in January 2026 to provide telecom consumers with transparent information on the real‑world performance of mobile networks.

The IDT aims to assess the quality of voice and data services offered by various Telecom Service Providers (TSPs). During the drive, TRAI captured live network performance using multiple advanced test handsets, monitoring key indicators such as call setup success rate, download and upload speeds, and speech quality. The collected data is analysed through specialised software systems, with results published on TRAI’s website and in newspapers to encourage service improvement.

TRAI’s Regional Office in Jaipur, through its appointed agency, conducted detailed tests from 13–16 January 2026. The exercise covered a total distance of 293.8 km across Bikaner city, Nokha and Shri Dungargarh; 41.1 km on the Deshnok–Norangdesar stretch; and 104.2 km on NH‑911 from Pugal to Ranjeetpura. The routes included major habitations such as Nokha, Bikasar, Budhro ki Dhani, Rasisar, Palana, Udairamsagar, Gangashar, Sarah Kajani, Mukta Prasad Nagar, Norangdesar, Seruna, Jodhasar, Shri Dungargarh, Gangajali, Dantour, Miranwala, Karnisar, Miyawala, Kandharli and Gour.
