NEW DELHI: In a nation still grieving the cold-blooded slaughter of 26 Indian civilians in the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack, Youth 4 Panun Kashmir and Roots in Kashmir have filed a legal complaint against Member of Parliament Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, demanding his immediate arrest for a seditious, incendiary statement made just days before the massacre.
In a pre-attack interview now circulating across social media, Ruhullah referred to Indian tourists as “Cultural Invaders” — a statement so vile, so deliberate, and so ideologically loaded, that it now reads like a prelude to bloodshed.
“This was not an off-the-cuff remark. It was an ideological landmine planted before the blast. Ruhullah’s words gave moral license to terrorists who butchered innocents,” said Vithal Chowdhary, President of Youth 4 Panun Kashmir.
The complaint, filed with the Cyber Crime Cell of Delhi Police, accuses Ruhullah of abetting terrorism, promoting communal hatred, and justifying mass murder. It invokes Sections 113, 150, 161, and 197 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, as well as the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Representation of the People Act, and the IT Act, demanding:
“Aga Rahullah has instigated terrorists and jihadis to kill the innocents in Kashmir. He literally asked the terrorists to attack tourists on the basis of their religion” said Amit Raina, Roots in Kashmir.
The organizations have slammed Ruhullah for playing foot soldier to jihadist ideology, accusing him of recycling the same poisonous narrative that led to the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990.
