RANCHI: The department for school education and literacy mission has issue an order directing all private schools to charge only the tuition fees during the lockdown period. This came after the education minister, Jagarnath Mahto held extensive meetings with all stakeholders.
Reacting to media, Jata Shankar Chaudhary, the director cum – special secretary of the department said that school cannot ask parents to pay other changes including annual and transport fees during the lockdown period.
The government also warns that schools cannot cancel the enrollment of students over non-payment of fees, if any. Schools should not deprive the children of online education under any circumstances, it added.
The schools were also asked to refrain from charging late fees and fee hike during the 2020-21 academic session. And no salary can be stopped to its staffs also. However, violation of this could lead to revocation of the no-objection certificate which is issued by the state government.
