High-stakes battle: Minister Vs 2-Terms MLA

JHARKHAND: Garhwa assembly constituency is all set to witness a pitched battle between BJP and JMM. Though, the constituency boarding three states Chhatisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, have been under the influence of left – wing extremist for a long time, however, there has also been declined in its hold ever since BJP came into power since 2014 at the centre, but the several pockets of the constituency are still under threat.

It is going to be one of the toughest political battels between two giants ever since it has turned into the constituency of the state. Mithilesh Thakur, the outgoing minister of Heman Soren led govt political career is at stake and – so is of ex – MLA, and BJP candidate Satyendra Nath Tiwari.

Mithlesh Thakur being alleged to have outsider, as he hails from Bihar, while his opponent, Satyendra Nath Tiwari, two terms MLA of the Garhwa Vidhan Sabha is all set to go with massive poll promises, developments are on his agenda, focusing on regional aspirations, reclaiming culture and social fabrics.

Despite having heavy-wight politicians, the people of constituency are battling for their fundamental needs i.e. good health facilities, educations, and other infrastructure along with opportunities of employments.

Over the years, development has taken place in the consistency, however, qualities of those developments are being questioned. Be it road, safety, water sanitation and supply and so on, said Mukesh Kumar, an auto driver, hailed from Meral block of the same electorate.

He was of the opinion that during incumbent minister, a significant rise in criminal activities in the district, the natural resources are being looted. Sudden rise of Sand Mafia has been a cause of concerns for all of us and we are living under threat which is in all-time high.

On the name of anonymity, a local vegetable vendor said, that we are living in danger, as no one is coming to rescues us, the district administration is too in nexus with incumbent MLA and his supporters. In fact, we are under his men radar and can be prosecuted if we don’t obey to their instruction.

The vendor did criticise the tenure of ex – MLA and BJP candidate Satyendra Tiwari too, however, he values the works and peace from 2009 until he defeated in 2019. There was harmony amongst the communities, however ever since the Mithlesh Thakur won this constituency, we are witnessing the significant rise in communal violences across the district, “said a resident of Lakhna village where incident reported during the Durga Puja.

The Garhwa Post approaches minster Thakur for his comments on the allegations levelled against him, however, he was unavailable for the comment. TGP will accommodate his response, if he is willing to give.
