KASHMIR: An encounter broke out in the Turkawangam village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district early morning on Tuesday. Three terrorists have reportedly been gunned down in the encounter by the security forces.
A joint team of special operations of J&K Police, Army’s 44 RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Turkawangam. As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire at them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering an encounter.
A senior police officer confirmed the exchange of fire between the joint team of forces and the militants. As per the sources, two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
