Mumbai: The National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM), Mumbai Chapter, in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), N.M. Lokhande Maharashtra Institute of Labour Studies, Abhinav Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Regional Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (RDSDE), and the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET), Maharashtra, will organise an Apprenticeship or NAPS Awareness Seminar on October 28 to promote greater industry participation in apprenticeship programmes.
The seminar will be held from 3 pm to 6 pm at the N.M. Lokhande Maharashtra Institute of Labour Studies, Parel, Mumbai, and is aimed at helping establishments understand the benefits, compliance requirements and implementation processes associated with apprenticeship engagement under government-backed schemes.
According to the organisers, the programme will focus on practical aspects of apprenticeship adoption, including reducing manpower and training costs through government-supported initiatives, understanding compliance obligations, leveraging the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) and National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS), and creating a skilled and future-ready workforce.
Participants will also receive guidance on registration procedures, apprentice engagement, stipend-related provisions and statutory compliance requirements. Discussions will explore ways in which organisations can integrate apprenticeship programmes into their broader workforce planning and talent-development strategies.
The seminar will provide a platform for interaction with representatives from NSDC and other stakeholders in the apprenticeship ecosystem, enabling participants to discuss implementation challenges and best practices.
HR professionals, administrative officers, compliance managers, finance executives, plant heads, operations managers and business leaders are expected to attend the event. Participation in the seminar is free of cost, although prior registration is mandatory.
The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to increase awareness of apprenticeship programmes and encourage greater industry participation in skill development and workforce training across sectors.
