Over 50 Workers Registered at Labour Welfare Workshop in Khoridih Panchayat

Garhwa: More than 50 unorganised and migrant workers were registered during a workshop-cum-seminar organised by the Garhwa Labour Department at Khoridih Panchayat in Meral block on Friday. The initiative aimed to connect workers with government welfare schemes and raise awareness about registration procedures and their entitlements.

The workshop provided workers with information on various welfare schemes administered by the Labour Department, eligibility requirements and the process for accessing benefits. Officials encouraged eligible workers to complete their registration to ensure they could avail themselves of applicable government assistance.

Labour Enforcement Officer of Meral Pappu Baitha, Labour Enforcement Officer of Majhiaon Avinash Kumar Singh and Garhwa Sadar Labour Enforcement Officer W. Kumar attended the programme. The panchayat mukhiya, ward members, panchayat secretary and a large number of local residents were also present.

More than 50 workers were registered at the venue, marking a key outcome of the awareness drive. The programme also sought to address gaps in awareness among workers, particularly those employed in the unorganised sector or migrating to other states for livelihood opportunities.

The Labour Department’s initiative focused on making registration more accessible and ensuring that workers were informed about their rights and the welfare benefits available to them. Officials emphasised the importance of registration in connecting eligible workers with relevant schemes and support mechanisms.
