Garhwa: Stressing the importance of public participation in the upcoming Census 2027, Neeraj Sridhar ‘Swargiya’, Provincial Art Heritage Coordinator of Sanskar Bharati, said that the census forms the backbone of national development and policy planning in India.
In a statement issued on Friday, he described the census as far more than a mere statistical exercise, calling it a comprehensive document reflecting the country’s social, economic, educational and cultural realities. He said the data collected during the nationwide exercise would play a decisive role in shaping the future course of development across the country.
Neeraj Sridhar stated that census figures help the government assess population distribution, housing conditions, literacy levels, employment, healthcare facilities and overall living standards. Based on these findings, policies and welfare schemes are formulated and resources are allocated to various sectors including education, healthcare, roads, drinking water supply, electricity and employment generation.
He emphasized that inaccurate or incomplete information could adversely affect development planning and implementation. “Proper and truthful participation in the census process is the responsibility of every citizen,” he said.
Appealing to the public, he urged people to cooperate fully with government-appointed census enumerators whenever they visit households for data collection. He clarified that enumerators are trained personnel and that all information provided by citizens remains confidential and is used only for official statistical and developmental purposes.
Highlighting India’s cultural diversity, Neeraj Sridhar noted that the census also helps preserve and recognize the country’s rich traditions, languages and lifestyles. He said the exercise is important not only for present-day governance but also for ensuring a stronger future for coming generations.
Calling Census 2027 a “national mission,” he urged citizens to actively participate in the process and contribute towards building a developed, prosperous and empowered India through accurate reporting and responsible cooperation.
