DIG Holds High-Level Meet on Festival Security

GARHWA: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Palamu Range, Kaushal Kishore, on Friday chaired a high-level meeting with district police officials to review security and law & order arrangements ahead of upcoming festivals, including Ram Navami.

The meeting, held at the Superintendent of Police office in Garhwa, was attended by SP Aman Kumar, along with Sub-Divisional Police Officers, Inspectors and all SHO’s of the district. The DIG conducted a detailed assessment of preparedness and directed officials to ensure foolproof security across the district.

Emphasising the importance of maintaining peace and communal harmony, Kaushal Kishore instructed officers to remain vigilant against rumours and anti-social elements. He directed that sensitive and highly sensitive areas be closely monitored, with adequate deployment of police personnel.

The DIG also asked officials to conduct advance inspections of procession routes and strengthen surveillance through CCTV cameras and drones. Special attention was laid on monitoring social media platforms to curb the spread of misleading or provocative content.

He further directed police officials to coordinate with peace committee members and local representatives to ensure smooth and peaceful celebrations. “There should be no inconvenience to the public, and all festivals must be conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner,” he said.

Later, the DIG inspected the control room and reviewed emergency response systems, urging citizens to use the helpline number 112 in case of any assistance.

Officials informed that all necessary security arrangements are being put in place, and the district police remain fully prepared to maintain law and order.
