KN Tripathi Calls on Union Minister, Demands for repealing of New Labour Code 2020

NEW DELHI: KN Tripathi, the former minister of Jharkhand govt and president of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) calls on Santosh Gangwar, the union minister for Labour and employment on Thursday in New Delhi.

During the meeting, KN Tripathi handed over the letter to minister asking for the repealing of the same which has severely damaged the rights of the labour such as processions, social security, away from the natural justice etc.

The letter also states that new labour code 2020 will do more harm to the labours, as they have been kept away from justice system in case of any disputes between the two parties. The act also does not provide the security and wellbeing to the labours. The social security code 2020 seems to have excluded many groups from its core i.e. migrant, informal and formal labours from the various benefits, the letter clarifies.

It is also imperative that a delegation of INTUC may meet the union minister in upcoming weeks to submit insinuations that seems to be advantageous for the labours which are not part of the existing Labour Code 2020. Therefore, INTUC demands to have all bodies in place to ensure the justice with labours, as they are the backbone of our economy.
