Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: Class VI students displayed patriotism

NEW DELHI: As part of celebrations to commemorate 75th Independence Day of India, the VV DAV Public School celebrates with its students joyfully. The students were full of enthusiasm to envision their patriotism amongst others. It is indeed a very blissful week for all as the entire nation celebrates 75 years of independence.

It is in the light of the instruction by the Directorate of Education (DoE) to celebrate Independence Day on Saturday, August 13, 2022. Though, the school had a holiday for students of class VI being Saturday, however, the school administration had notified the students to be present bagless on the occasion.

It is an initiative of the Government of India, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav that commenced in March 2021, when a 75-week countdown started towards the 75th anniversary of India’s independence and the celebrations will conclude on August 15, 2023.

PM Narendra Modi in his ‘Mann Ki Baat programme’ had said that the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative was gaining momentum as a people’s movement. In that program, he urged people to change their social media profiles to that of the tricolour between August 2-15.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is based on five themes – Freedom, Ideas, Resolve, Actions and Achievements. Under the ‘Freedom’ theme, the government has focused on bringing out stories of unsung heroes who made sacrifices in India’s freedom struggle.

Some of the events organized under this theme include – Birsa Munda Jayanti, Shaheed Diwas, Declaration of Provisional Government of Free India by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, besides others. The much-celebrated, and, to an extent, politicized Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is also being carried out under this theme of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
